Acupuncture is an age-old healing practice from traditional Chinese medicine in which practitioners stimulate specific points on the body called meridians or pathways

Acupuncture is an age-old healing practice involving Qi (pronounced “chee”), a foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It’s the energy, or life force, that flows throughout the body, protecting it from illness, pain and disease.

Qi follows specific pathways called meridians — a bit like rivers flowing inside the body. These pathways bring energy that nourishes every cell, organ, tissue, and muscle. There are over 1,000 acupuncture points that address a variety of health conditions — both physical and emotional.

TCM also includes other healing practices such as gua sha, cupping, and herbal medicine. Amy Adams our resident expert, has over 1,000 clinical hours putting these modalities into practice, helping clients benefit from these traditional methods of healing.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into the body at specific points — a very gentle procedure. This accesses, redirects, and boosts Qi which, in turn, helps the body reach its highest capacity to heal itself, tapping into anti-inflammatory chemistry, hormones, and the immune system.

Scientific studies have proven its efficacy for treating inflammation, pain, anxiety, and host of other disorders. Acupuncture has few side effects, and is more natural way to control pain without relying upon pharmaceuticals.
