Studies have shown many psychological benefits of exercise are vast and can even be immediate, as a way to reduce anxiety for the simple reason that it releases endorphins into the blood stream which enhances mood immediately. Research also shows that regular exercise can calm the “fight or flight” trigger that escalates in most people who suffer from regular stress.

Regularly exercise, especially cardio, stimulates chemical changes in the brain that can aid with memory and better blood flow and is protective for blood vessels. But overall, making exercise a regular part of your weekly routine is a “triple win” when it comes to holistic healing since it naturally lowers inflammation in all areas, body, emotions, and mind.

New to regular exercise? The best way to begin is low and slow and work your way up to something more challenging. Choose a routine that is manageable and activities that are recommended by your practitioner that address your health challenges in a safe way. If you feel you lack the discipline to do it on your own, join a class or work out with a friend who will hold you accountable and cheer your on.
