Frequently Asked Questions About Carpathia Health

How do I get started as a new client at Carpathia?
Getting started begins with filling out our Comprehensive Intake Forms in the Client Portal. This gives us detailed information to make the best assessment and care plan for you. After you submit the forms, our clinicians will review them within 24-48 hours and call you to schedule an initial appointment.
Do you take insurance?
At this time, we do not directly bill insurance. However, we provide detailed receipts containing all the codes you need to submit for reimbursement. Many of our patients receive some level of reimbursement this way. Please contact us to learn more about this process. Some of our labs may be filed through insurance, however not all.
Why are the new client intake forms so detailed?
The forms are detailed for a reason—they give us very helpful information on your health history, symptoms, and needs. This lets us provide you with the best possible care. The more details we have, the better we can assess your case and develop an effective treatment plan.
What are some important things I should be ready for as a new client?
You might need to make diet and lifestyle changes, pay more attention to your body, or engage in daily self-care. These are the keys to being fully invested in your care.
What is the process after I submit my new client paperwork?
After you submit the initial Medical Symptom/Toxicity Questionnaire [MSQ] intake form through the Client Portal, our team will review the MSQ within 24-48 business hours. We will then call you to schedule an initial appointment, and email you additional detailed history forms prior to your first appointment.
What if I have previous outside lab tests and records to review?
If you have extensive previous records for us to review before your first appointment, there may be an additional fee so we can assess your history and labs fully to provide the most effective care plan.
What should I expect if I am struggling with Biotoxin, Mold, or Chronic Complex Illness?

You may have been traumatized by your health situation, other factors, years of not being heard, and financial stressors. All of these cause limbic system dysregulation, impairing your ability to heal.

You may have trouble remembering and processing, struggle with big emotions, and experience lots of irritation. We will require you to work with limbic system retraining and one of our health coaches regularly if you are to make progress and remain a client.

Please understand that we cannot assess and address many years’ worth of symptoms, lab tests, and previous treatments and come up with a lifelong plan in one 90-minute intake visit. This is a 9-12+ month process of using multiple team members.

What kinds of dietary changes can I expect to support my treatment plan?

Our functional approach uses nutrition and dietary changes as a fundamental part of treatment. This helps us optimize everything from gastrointestinal health, immunity, sleep, hormonal balance, and neurological challenges to emotional well-being. You may need to make changes in your diet, particularly around caffeine, sugar, processed foods, and alcohol.

Nutritional counseling with a functionally trained dietitian is essential for lasting results. Our dietitians are the front line of our services and the most economical.

What kind of awareness and balance is important for my health journey?

As you move forward, you’ll become aware of daily physical changes and symptoms arising in your body so that you can begin to understand the complex process involved. The more you are aware of these things, the more quickly you can adjust to further your self-care. We strongly recommend keeping a food-mood diary to start to self-assess.

The balance between rest and physical exercise will majorly affect your well-being. We often lose this balance by getting caught up in the “busyness” of our lives. We can help you with this balance but successful implementation at home and in your life depends on the commitment to your health and self-care. We will be encouraging you to maintain self-awareness and commitment.

Cutting-edge functional testing may be recommended to assess your unique biochemistry and physiology. These tests may involve the collection of saliva, urine, stool, breath, and/or blood.

Many tests are NOT covered by insurance. For those that are, please be aware of your deductible and your out-of-network benefits.

Most of our lab contracted prices are less than plan deductibles.

How long does it take to see results from the functional approach?
It takes the body 90 days minimum to change at a cellular level and become the new “normal” for your body. For every year you’ve been unwell, plan on at least 3 months for your body to fully adapt and restore health.
What if I have a health emergency?

We are NOT an emergency care facility. If you have an emergency, please call your primary care physician or seek an emergency medical facility.

The best way to get a quick response is to send a secure message through our client portal. You can also call our office at (469) 729-6460.

Do not email us for any pressing matters. Please DO NOT send multiple messages to multiple practitioners. This will only delay your care.

What is the cost investment for functional medicine care?

This approach is an investment in the future of your health. Investing now can return huge benefits for your long-term health, providing a foundation for a life filled with more energy, fewer symptoms, and an overall sense of well-being.

Since every patient plan is unique, the cost changes based on your needs. Expect to have several visits with your primary practitioner as well as with the nutritionists and/or health coaches. A good estimate is $1000-3000 with visits, labs, and nutrients for the first 3 months. After that, the cost depends on your needs and usage of advanced therapeutics such as IVs.

We will provide you with receipts and codes for those practitioners allowed to use CPT and ICD 10 coding so you may file for out-of-network benefits.

Payment is due at the time of service for your practitioner appointment and any lab work you do.

Do you offer virtual consults? What if I am out of state?
Yes, we provide telehealth appointments for new and existing patients who cannot meet in person. New out-of-state clients may need to have a visit in person in order for us to provide you with ongoing telemedicine visits. This allows us to extend our Health care across state lines. Virtual consults follow the same process as our in-clinic visits.
What if I'm traveling to Carpathia from another state?
We attract clients locally and from across the country seeking our personalized, cutting-edge functional medicine care. We are happy to provide references for comfortable local accommodations for those traveling to see us. Let us know how we can support your visit.
What if I have more questions?
