WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN WORKING WITH CARPATHIA

 

The body has a psycho-physical information system that will direct itself to self-healing if given the right internal and external support. Ultimately you are in charge of your own well-being. The Carpathia team is here to guide you but we cannot do the work for you!

NUTRITION

The functional approach utilizes nutrition and dietary changes as a fundamental part of treatment for optimizing everything from gastrointestinal health, immune, sleep, hormonal balance and neurological challenges, to emotional well-being. This may require some major changes in your current diet, particularly regarding caffeine, sugar, processed foods, and alcohol.

Nutritional counseling with a functionally trained dietitian is essential for lasting results. Our dietitians are the front line of our services and the most economical.

FOOD IS MEDICINE

AWARENESS AND BALANCE

Part of the journey is to become aware of daily physical changes and symptoms arising in your body so that you can begin to understand the complex process involved. The more you are aware of these things the more quickly you can make adjustments to further your own self-care. We strongly recommend keeping a food-mood diary to start to self-assess.

The balance between rest and physical exercise will be a major factor in your well-being. We often lose this balance by getting caught in the “busyness” or our lives. We can help you with this balance but successful implementation at home and in your life depends on the commitment to your health and self-care. We will be encouraging you to maintain self-awareness and commitment.

Testing

Cutting edge functional testing may be recommended in order to assess your individual unique biochemistry and physiology. These tests may involve the collection of saliva, urine, stool, breathe and/or blood.

Many tests are NOT covered by insurance. For those that are please be aware of your deductible and your out of network benefits.

How Long Will it take?

It did not just take you a few weeks to get to where you are in your health journey, so understand that this is not going to be a quick fix or overnight cure. It takes the body 55 days minimum to change at a cellular level and become the new “normal” for your body. Based on this, we generally anticipate a 4 to 12 months process to achieve long-lasting, and even a lifetime of health. Every plan is unique to you.

Emergencies

We are NOT an emergency care facility. If you have an emergency please call your primary care physician or seek an emergency medical facility.

Do not email us for any pressing matters. Please DO NOT send multiple messages to multiple practitioners. This will only delay your care.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

 

This approach is an investment in your long term well-being.

No different than investing for your financial future, investing in your health now, will return HUGE benefits for your health and well-being (and your financial future)!

Since every patient plan is unique to you the cost changes based on your needs. Expect to have several visits with your primary practitioner as well as with the dieticians.

We will provide you with receipts and codes for those practitioners allowed to use CPT and ICD 10 coding, so you may file for out of network benefits.

Payment is due at the time of service for your practitioner appointment and any lab work you do.

IN-PERSON vs VIRTUAL VISITS

Our providers prefer for your initial visit to always be in person. However, any follow up appointments are welcome to be via phone or Zoom.

CANCELLATIONS

48 Business Hour Notice

Our Office Policies and Guidelines Agreement states that in the event of a missed or cancelled appointment without the required 48-business hour notice, we will have to charge the full cost of the missed visit. We require this notice so that clients, who are on our waiting list, have the opportunity to come in within a reasonable amount of time. We understand that sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances that occur, and will try our best to accommodate the your needs.

 

URGENT NEEDS

If you are having a medical emergency please call 911 or visit an ER or urgent care center.

We ask that our clients all have primary care physicians to take care of acute requests and emergencies as we do not have after hours or weekend call service.

That being said, we WOULD like you to inform us of any significant changes in your health requiring intervention, as we may be able to offer significant integrative support. For example: we have sinus infection protocols not involving antibiotics that may be very effective. Contact our nurses during regular business hours at 469.729.6459 or message us securely through our client portal.

 

BILLING INSURANCE

Non-Carpathia Collaborative medical expenses such as lab tests and prescription medications may be covered by a member’s health insurance plan per that plan’s rules.

  • Most lab tests ordered by a Carpathia Collaborative physician will be billed directly to your insurance by the lab.
  • Carpathia Collaborative will not submit a medical claim to insurance on your behalf. We cannot assist you with claim resolution for our services.
  • We will provide you with a detailed billing summary that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
  • There may be procedures or lab tests that are not covered depending on your plan’s rules.
