My Personal Story
After completing my residency in Internal Medicine and starting outpatient care, I was alarmed by the rising use of medications and the increase in prevalence of chronic illnesses diagnosed in younger and younger patients. I questioned, could something in the environment be triggering these changes?
Coincidentally we moved to a different home at that time and after the move, I began having neurological symptoms that were not explained by the blood tests or diagnoses that I had learned in my medical training. After seeing several doctors in different medical fields I researched environmental medicine and learned about an environmental medicine clinic that was operated by a world renowned physician in Dallas, TX. Experiencing remarkable improvements in my symptoms during my visits to the unit confirmed my belief that the environment plays a crucial role in health. I learned from the world’s expert how our bodies are affected by toxicants in the environment and how to tailor treatments to each individual’s unique biochemistry. I then built my own eco -friendly low electromagnetic-field home, consulting with well-known experts in healthy house building.
I have always had a passion for learning and my patients have taught me a great deal including information about the most innovative treatment modalities and the relationship of the subconscious brain to one’s physiology and the emotional roots to “dis ease “. I have learned our mind and heart are deeply connected to the body’s health and susceptibility to illness.
